We’re looking for a Senior Copywriter who finds meaning in doing great creative work and doing good in the world. Why this role is different This isn’t a traditional advertising copywriter role. The work at Marlin is thoughtful, purposeful and practical. It’s about helping organisations communicate clearly when they’re asking for support, and doing so in a way that earns trust. You’ll spend your time working through questions that sit at the heart of purpose-led communication: what motivates generosity, how trust is built, and how to inspire action when the value exchanged is emotional rather than tangible. The work moves between long-form and short-form, print and digital, considered pieces and faster turnarounds. It suits someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their craft, and finds satisfaction in work that’s careful, human and effective in its nature. What You’ll Do Generate strong, insight-led creative ideas that deliver results Write both scroll-stopping short form and emotionally rich long form copy Take complex briefs and translate them into simple, compelling narratives Bring strategic thinking to creative challenges to help shape how and why messages work Collaborate closely with designers, strategists and digital project teams Balance and manage multiple projects with tight timelines (print, digital and beyond) Conduct interviews with key stakeholders and beneficiaries to bring authenticity and a unique point of view to campaigns and appeals Present your ideas clearly and confidently to internal teams and clients Bring visual thinking to your work and support how words and design work together Give and receive feedback with professionalism and care Support and mentor junior creatives as they grow Someone Who What we’re looking for Has 5 years’ experience writing for the not-for-profit, similar purpose-driven work, or customer relationship marketing Has a Bachelor’s degree or formal qualifications in writing Has strong conceptual skills and a strategic approach to copy Writes with clarity, heart and purpose, across channels and formats Understands, and cares about, the not-for-profit sector and its audiences Can handle pressure with a calm, curious and friendly attitude Is confident in presenting work and communicating ideas Is familiar with Adobe Acrobat, Figma, and Google Suite Works well in a team, enjoys collaboration, and supports others’ growth Why you’ll love working here Your work matters every day.
