About This Role Your new role: As the Nurse Unit Manager – Perioperative Services, you will lead and coordinate a complex clinical service, with responsibility for: Providing advanced clinical and professional leadership across perioperative services including theatres, PACU, anaesthetics, acute pain, surgical admissions and pre-operative services Leading safe, high-quality care aligned with NMBA standards, national safety standards and Metro South Health frameworks Managing human, material and financial resources, including cost centre and workforce planning Driving service improvement, innovation, and evidence-based practice to meet performance targets and patient outcomes Fostering a positive, learning-focused culture that supports education, research, succession planning and staff development Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary stakeholders to achieve best practice surgical and perioperative care About You To be successful in this role, you will bring advanced perioperative expertise and strong leadership capability, with: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse Extensive perioperative services experience with demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and autonomous practice Proven experience in operational leadership, including rostering, workforce management and budget accountability Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to lead teams and influence positive culture Experience driving quality improvement, achieving KPIs and managing change in complex healthcare environments A commitment to person-centred care, professional excellence and developing others (Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty are highly desirable) Check out our quick tips and application essentials!
