About You : Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or related field. Position Summary : The Senior Architectural Technician produces technical drawings and models and supports the design team with advanced technical expertise. The role focuses on the technical aspects of design, including building systems, detailing, materials, and regulatory compliance, ensuring documentation is accurate, coordinated, and buildable. This position drives the successful adoption and implementation of BIM/CAD technologies and ensures streamlined collaboration between consultants and project teams. The Technician bridges design and construction by resolving details, coordinating services, and producing compliant documentation that meets project, regulatory, and client requirements. Key Requirements : 10–15 years’ experience in architectural documentation within professional practice. Proficiency in BIM (Revit, ArchiCAD) and CAD (AutoCAD) platforms. Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, and building codes (NCC and Australian Standards). Proven experience coordinating with multidisciplinary consultants across all project phases. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality documentation that supports project delivery. Experience in managing revisions, version control, and QA/QC processes. Strong problem-solving and constructability skills. Detail-oriented with accuracy and precision in all outputs. Effective communication and collaboration with project teams and consultants. Time management and ability to work under tight deadlines. Commitment to professional development and staying current with industry standards and technology. Job Responsibility : Primary Prepare and develop detailed architectural drawings, schedules, and specifications across all project phases. Translate design concepts into accurate construction documentation using BIM/CAD software. Coordinate with consultants (structural, services, landscape, etc.) to integrate inputs into unified documentation sets. Ensure compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and local planning/building regulations. Resolve technical and constructability issues, producing practical detailing solutions. Maintain accuracy, consistency, and adherence to office drawing/documentation standards. Support project delivery across design development, tender, and construction phases. Manage revisions, version control, and document issue processes. Assist in QA/QC processes for documentation prior to submission. Contribute to practice-wide consistency and continual improvement of documentation standards. Secondary Participate in project inception activities. Undertake site visits, including consultation with clients, measuring existing conditions, and preparing reports. Assist with construction documentation, including sub-consultant coordination and project specifications. Support contract administration tasks, including procurement evaluations, site instructions, RFIs, and variations. Prepare concept designs, presentations, and 3D perspectives/renderings when required. Assist in development of documentation libraries, templates, and detailing standards. Essential Document control: transmittals, revision histories, PDF sets; superseded folders updated ≤24 hrs after each issue. Registers: maintain RFI, Variation/Change, Design Comments, Authorities Matrix, and Consultant Contacts; report weekly status. BIM discipline: separate building/site files where applicable; standard details used/maintained; quarterly template updates logged. Meetings cadence: fortnightly coordination workshops during DD/CD; actions tracked to closure. Office protocols: ClickUp task lists current; Synergy timesheets on time; email CC protocols observed; cybersecurity practices followed.
