This is a Senior Case Manager SMS role with Queensland Corrective Services based in QLD, AU Queensland Corrective Services Role Seniority - senior More about the Senior Case Manager SMS role at Queensland Corrective Services The Senior Case Manager will be responsible for the assessment of offending risk and need, development and enactment of an engagement plan in accordance with the individual’s assessed risk and need to improve rehabilitation, reintegration and/or community supervision outcomes for incarcerated individuals. The Senior Case Manager SMS will use a whole-of-sentence planning approach applying the principles of Risk Need Responsivity (RNR) to case management and will be responsible for coordinating activities to support individuals’ readiness for release and transition back to the community. Requirements The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Individual contributor leadership stream: Experience in the criminal justice environment including the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and practice directives in an operational environment or similar work experience that demonstrates the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge. Demonstrated assessment and case management experience, working with a diverse and complex client base within a human services field. Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to prepare high quality objective, analytical reports. Well-developed and professional verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse client group and to effectively communicate with stakeholders in a manner appropriate to the audience. Confidence and demonstrated experience in applying professional discretion, reasoning, judgement and decision-making skills prior to seeking management validation. Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible in work practices in response to shifting priorities and the practicalities or working within a correctional environment. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relevant to the over-representation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in custody. Proven ability to build and manage strong relationships with peers, team members, internal and external stakeholders. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
