This position combines traditional accounting expertise with a strong focus on process improvement, and the implementation of automation solutions to drive efficiency and accuracy of reporting and reconciliation processes within the finance function. You will be key in the development of the future state of the Finance function providing excellent opportunity for growth and development of new skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of process efficiency/automation gains utilising tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, AI and have coding skills such as SQL. Sydney or Melbourne based. You will: Support regular reporting cycles including general ledger reconciliations, analysis and review activities. Use modern finance tools to automate reconciliation and reporting processes. Assess current accounting and finance processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation. Preparation of period-end tasks including processing journal entries and general financial data validation. Support compliance and reporting requirements by assisting with data collection, validation, and documentation Work with team members to assist with daily & month end tasks, reviewing existing processes and implementing efficiency / automation enhancements. Liaise with different departments to ensure the Finance team are properly supporting the needs of the business. What you bring: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Management Accountant or similar role. Proven experience in process improvement, automation, or digital transformation within a finance or accounting environment. Advanced knowledge of tools such as PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric, AI and/or SQL is essential. Strong system skills, advanced knowledge of Excel and highly adaptable to new systems. Prior experience in system-based projects (e.g., ERP change) beneficial but not essential. CA/CPA qualified. Strong communicator and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
