Tertiary qualifications in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, Building Services or a related field (or equivalent industry experience). A trade, technical or engineering background is highly regarded, though not essential. Demonstrated experience managing commercial, industrial, government or institutional assets, ideally with exposure to complex or high profile sites. Strong leadership, people management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships quickly. Deep understanding of FM operations, building services and compliance requirements. Ability to interpret and advise on technical building systems including HVAC, electrical, fire and BMS. Strong financial capability including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and commercial decision making. Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced environment. The Role Knight Frank is seeking a Senior Facilities Manager to oversee a key portfolio of A grade commercial and industrial assets on behalf of a major institutional client. This is a pivotal role where you will act as a strategic partner, driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, optimising performance, and delivering exceptional client and tenant experience. You will be responsible for day to day operations, budgeting, and forecasting, contractor and supplier performance, compliance frameworks, risk management and technical service delivery across the South Australian portfolio. Supported by an experienced team and strong leadership, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio with genuine autonomy, influence and visibility. Key Responsibilities Oversee the full operational management of a commercial and industrial portfolio for a single institutional client. Act as the primary technical and maintenance contact, providing clear advice and direction across the portfolio. Deliver high quality operational, compliance and risk management outcomes in line with regulatory and contractual standards. Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts and operational expenditure, driving efficiencies and value. Provide strategic recommendations relating to major maintenance, capital works and asset performance improvements. Conduct regular site inspections and maintain strong oversight of contractor quality and service delivery. Build and maintain strong tenant, client and internal team relationships, ensuring exceptional service standards. Work collaboratively with the Property Manager to ensure alignment on reporting, budgets and operational priorities.
