As part of our commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Car Cleaner to join the Mackay Whitsunday District team. This role is essential in maintaining the professional presentation and operational readiness of our police vehicle fleet. Your Key Accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: Perform thorough cleaning of police vehicles, including interior and exterior detailing, to maintain operational readiness and professional presentation. Ensure vehicles are free from contaminants, biohazards, and debris in accordance with health and safety standards. Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tyre condition, and battery status. Identify and report any maintenance issues or damage to the fleet coordinator or relevant personnel. Manage vehicle booking systems to ensure accurate tracking of vehicle usage, availability, and cleaning schedules. Maintain records of cleaning, inspections, and any maintenance actions taken. Operate within secure police environments, adhering to all safety, confidentiality, and security procedures. Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following WHS guidelines and departmental policies. Prioritise vehicle cleaning and preparation based on operational needs and urgency. Work collaboratively with fleet management, operational staff, and other support teams to ensure vehicles are ready for deployment. Co-ordinate the servicing and repair of police vehicles to ensure operational readiness and safety. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
