About the Opportunity Leeton MGP comprises a small group of midwives dedicated to supporting women with low-risk pregnancies. As a continuity of care model, the MGP midwives provide specialist and personalised perinatal care. Women with a complicated medical history and pregnancy are referred to Griffith Base Hospital or Wagga Hospital as a collaborative approach in providing shared specialist perinatal care. As a group practice midwife, you will work in partnership with women in providing woman-centred care, support and advice during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period. Early discharge home following birth is encouraged where postnatal care will be provided during home visits. Home visits are offered to all women booked at Leeton regardless of the birthing hospital. Working across a seven-day roster, the midwives work autonomously and collaboratively as a team. A typical day in the role of a Leeton MGP midwife encompasses on-call, ANC, home visits and the coordination of complex care presentations in addition to birthing care. As the Registered Midwife, you will: Deliver person-centred, evidence-based nursing/midwifery care in accordance with relevant standards and legislation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Engage in continuous quality improvement activities and contribute to a culture of safety and learning.
