The role is located in regional Queensland, just under 4 hours from Brisbane. The podiatrist plays a pivotal role in the care of persons with chronic disease and diagnosed ‘high risk feet'. High risk feet involve diagnoses with amputations, foot ulcerations, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease and gross foot deformities. HP4 Rural Generalist caseload: mostly outpatients and outreach, some inpatients High risk feet/wound care caseload Sole Podiatry role – you must be confident working autonomously. There is an Allied Health Assistant at each site Outreach to 7 small rural hospitals 10-22 beds, some are multipurpose health facilities (MPHS), all travel in a fleet vehicle (usually car pool with MDT members) The is a HP4 level role, although experienced HP3 clinicians are welcome to apply as there is support from the sister sites.
