Biodiverse Garden Design is seeking a full-time Landscape Architect to join our Clunes-based studio. This role is suited to an early-career professional who is passionate about ecological design, detailed documentation and delivering high-quality residential and small-scale commercial landscape projects. About the Role The Landscape Architect will be responsible for the planning, design, documentation and coordination of landscape projects from concept through to construction. The role involves client consultation, preparation of drawings and specifications, site analysis and collaboration with contractors and consultants to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Consult with clients to determine project scope, design objectives, site constraints and budget parameters. Conduct site analysis, including assessment of landforms, soil conditions, vegetation, drainage, microclimate, and existing built elements to inform design outcomes. Prepare concept designs, sketch plans, detailed drawings and documentation using appropriate software and drafting tools. Develop planting plans, material palettes, and landscape specifications that integrate aesthetic, structural and environmental considerations. Prepare reports, site plans, working drawings and cost estimates for proposed landscape works. Liaise with architects, builders, engineers, horticultural professionals and other stakeholders to coordinate external area designs and ensure integration with building works. Assist in preparing tender documentation and reviewing contractor submissions where required. Undertake site visits and inspect works in progress to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications and quality standards. Provide advice to clients regarding design options, materials selection, construction sequencing and likely timeframes. Maintain project records and assist in managing multiple projects to meet deadlines and client expectations. Administer onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring timely communication, accurate documentation in CRMs and appropriate handover of project information. Support the planning, development and delivery of digital guides and resources. About You To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate the following: A relevant Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field. At least one year of recent, full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience as a Landscape Architect or in a closely related role involving landscape design and documentation. Demonstrated experience preparing design drawings, documentation packages and planting plans. Knowledge of landscape construction principles, materials and detailing. Ability to interpret site information and translate client briefs into practical and creative design solutions. Competency in relevant design and drafting software (for example, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or similar). Understanding of environmental design principles, including sustainable planting, soil health, water-sensitive design and biodiversity considerations. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, consultants and contractors. Current Australian driver’s licence.
