Retail Manager – Carnegie and Glen Waverley Vic Kogan People Solutions is proud to work with a growing South Asian Grocery chain who are seeking a new Retail Manager to work across their 2 stores. About the role: Salary: Negotiable in the range of $75k to $80k plus superannuation per annum. Location: Carnegie (Base) and Glen Waverley Tenure: Full-time and ongoing Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be the driving force behind the day-to-day success of both stores. Your core responsibilities will include Manage day-to-day operations across both store locations, ensuring consistent standards and procedures are applied. Advising the purchasing manager regarding stock requirements (and floor space / display requirements) Set pricing levels at each store, considering market and local competition activity Overseeing staffing arrangements to ensure adequate rostering and staffing (checkout operators and shop assistants) across all seven days of operations. Maintain high standards of store presentation and hygiene. Supervise, mentor and lead store staff including checkout operators and shop assistants. Minimise shrinkage and waste by implementing and maintaining best practice stock rotation methods. Ensure the store complies with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, food safety standards, and relevant consumer legislation Managing customer relationships and managing customer feedback P&L responsibility (including wage and expense control) for each store. What we’re looking for: Relevant post-secondary qualifications to at least Diploma level or agreed equivalent. At least 1 or more years’ suitable experience in grocery or perishable food retail management. Proven ability to organize, mentor and provide leadership to staff. Demonstrate a strong customer focus - possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal and work with a diverse range of customers. Solid business acumen and administration skills, understanding of financial documents such as profit and loss statements. Be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads to effectively meet deadlines. Advanced skills in POS systems and integrated EFTPOS terminals; highly tech-literate in high-volume retail environments. Australian Driver’s License is a must. You must have unrestricted full time Australian working rights to be considered.
