10 month role Brisbane CBD based Our Queensland Government client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Principal Procurement and Contracts Advisor to join the Corporate Services Division. Key responsibilities Develop and support procurement services strategy, governance frameworks and plans in line with strategic outcomes defined by the department and/or government. Provide high-level strategic advice and analysis to senior management and departmental officers on procurement practices by maintaining a sophisticated knowledge of contemporary issues impacting on procurement. Oversee complex submissions, plans, reports, briefing materials and correspondence on significant procurement-related issues relevant to the department. Develop, implement and review procurement systems, policies and procedures, and training to deliver effective and efficient strategic procurement within the department in accordance with relevant legislation. Manage strategic procurement functions to ensure best practice and coordinate the establishment of supply arrangements, including provision of expert advice on specifications, evaluating offers, contract management and/or administration, supply market analysis and other general procurement activities. Establish and maintain strategic and effective working relationships within the department and across government agencies and other external bodies.
