Indigeco is supporting a Federal Government regulatory agency to source 2x APS6 Senior Policy Officers and 1x EL1 Assistant Director (Policy) for 6-month labour hire contracts, with strong potential for extension. Develop and deliver complex policy advice, support regulatory frameworks, and contribute to high-impact national programs within a collaborative team. 6 months extension APS6: $70-$75/hr super EL1: $100 – 110/115 super Canberra (on-site with some flexibility) NV1 Clearance required ONLY CANDIDATES WITH A CURRENT NV1 CLEARANCE ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION. About the Role These roles sit within a Regulatory Frameworks team supporting the development and implementation of complex policy in a highly specialised and nationally significant environment. You will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, evidence-based policy advice, contribute to regulatory frameworks, and engage with a broad range of stakeholders. The EL1 role will provide leadership across policy development activities, while APS6 officers will support and deliver policy work under limited direction. Key Responsibilities APS6 – Senior Policy Officers: Develop and implement complex policy under limited direction Undertake research, analysis, and provide evidence-based advice Support and contribute to policy development programs and frameworks Prepare high-quality documentation, briefings, and correspondence Engage with internal and external stakeholders Monitor progress against milestones and support reporting activities Contribute to process improvement and policy systems uplift EL1 – Assistant Director (Policy): Lead policy development activities and provide strategic policy advice Design and implement frameworks to monitor and evaluate policy effectiveness Identify and mitigate risks across policy programs Lead stakeholder consultation and engagement activities Prepare complex documentation, briefings, and recommendations Support governance, reporting, and delivery against strategic priorities Mentor and guide team members within a collaborative environment Key Requirements Demonstrated experience in policy development and advisory roles , ideally within government or regulatory environments Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to deliver high-quality written work including briefs and policy papers Experience engaging with stakeholders and managing competing priorities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Highly Regarded Experience in regulatory, legal, or complex policy environments Tertiary qualifications in policy, law, regulation, or related disciplines Experience working in Federal Government settings Additional Information Contract: 6 months with potential 3-month extension Location: Canberra Airport precinct Hours: 37.5 hours per week Start: ASAP (pending suitability assessment) Flexible working arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
