JOB DESCRIPTION: VEGETABLE FARM WORKER Employment Type: Full - time (38 hours per week) Salary: $33 to $38 per hour About us: Our farm is located at 1120 Arnhem Hwy, Humpty Doo, NT 0836, Australia, and specialises in the cultivation of a variety of vegetables and fruits, including okra snake beans, sponge gourd, bitter melon, luffa, moringa, betel leaves, mango, and wax apple. As a Farm Worker, you will be involved in all stages of crop production—from planting through to harvest—while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and environmental sustainability. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing soil, planting, and maintaining vegetable crops in both greenhouse and open-field environments. Performing daily farm duties such as watering, pruning, fertilising, and pest and weed control. Harvesting, sorting, grading, and packing fresh produce in accordance with quality standards. Monitoring crop health and reporting any signs of pests, disease, or irrigation issues. Operating and maintaining farm tools, irrigation systems, and light machinery under supervision. Assisting with the installation and maintenance of greenhouse structures and irrigation systems. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas, tools, and equipment. Following all workplace health and safety procedures and biosecurity requirements. Skills and Experience: Previous experience in vegetable or fruit farming (hydroponic experience highly regarded but not essential). Sound understanding of general farm practices, including planting, irrigation, and crop maintenance. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work both independently and within a team. Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour in outdoor and varying weather conditions. Basic knowledge of safe handling of machinery, tools, and agricultural chemicals. Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to farm operations. Vietnamese language skills are an advantage, particularly for communication within a multicultural workforce.
