About the Role We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Commercial Counsel to provide high‑quality commercial and legal support across our diverse portfolio of businesses. Working closely with the Group Contracts & Legal Manager, you will play an integral role in the drafting and reviewing of commercial agreements, supporting negotiations, advising on contractual risk, , and offering practical legal guidance to project, procurement, and operational teams.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment and enjoys partnering with diverse stakeholders across construction, engineering, manufacturing and project‑based industries. Key Duties & Responsibilities Draft, review and assist in negotiating commercial agreements, subcontracts and supplier terms within delegated authority. Provide practical legal and commercial advice on obligations, liabilities, indemnities and risk management. Support governance frameworks including approval workflows, signing authorities, registers and reporting. Provide guidance on compliance matters across corporate, competition, privacy and related legislation. Work closely with operational, procurement and commercial teams to identify contractual risk. Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, clause banks and contract management systems. Requirements Strong contract drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills, with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience across multiple teams or entities. Sound understanding of contract law, corporate law and relevant industry legislation. The ability to translate legal concepts into clear, practical and commercially relevant advice. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with contract management practices. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Desirable: Qualifications in Law/Commerce, and/or experience in construction, engineering or manufacturing environments. Why Join Ahrens?
