This role sits within a finance and procurement function and acts as a key link between business areas and the Chief Financial Officer, delivering financial advice, reporting, and analysis with a focus on budget management. Key responsibilities Act as the primary link between the CFO and business areas Provide financial advice, analysis, and support for decision making Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting Support business planning, projects, and investment decisions through financial analysis Assist with month end processes such as accruals and prepayments Monitor and review forecasts with stakeholders Identify and communicate financial risks and impacts Support budget development, expenditure forecasting, and long term planning Ensure compliance with financial management and reporting requirements Build financial capability across the organisation Required experience and skills Qualifications in accounting, finance, or business, or relevant public sector financial management experience Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis within a Commonwealth framework Strong analytical capability and ability to influence stakeholders Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team Section 26 Transfer Client Public sector organisation, finance and procurement function.
