Our Nowra Day Program helps young people between 12 and 24 years who may be having problems with alcohol or drugs without them having to attend treatment in a residential setting. Every day will be different, as you provide assessment, counselling and support to young people – working alongside them to develop and implement individualised treatment goals to support them in developing their own road to recovery. This part-time position (0.6FTE) is based at our Youth office in Nowra. The salary is $88,000 - $105,000 (pro rata) depending on qualifications and experience, plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging. Your Opportunity As an AOD Counsellor Case Manager with Lives Lived Well you will support a diverse range of clients – providing assessment, counselling, case management and support services. Along with a great attitude and passion for your work, you will also have the following skills and attributes: Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, human services, occupational therapy, or other health related disciplines An understanding of evidence-based practices and how to conduct assessments and treatment plans Strong computer skills and knowledge of CRM systems, and the importance of maintaining accurate data Culturally safe and appropriate work practices, and ability to tailor your approach to a wide variety of people Engagement and rapport building skills – you will need to develop connections quickly as you will be managing a caseload of clients with varying levels of complexity Strong verbal and written communication skills; self-managing and able to prioritise your own workload Emotionally maturity, patience, and resilience – there will be both positive and negative outcomes in this role Stakeholder engagement - maintaining relationships with local youth services is a key factor A proactive team player – you’ll be part of a hard-working, collaborative multidisciplinary group A sound understanding of the professional, ethical, and legislative frameworks, including understanding and setting boundaries We deal with a diverse client group including CALD and LGBTIQ communities so you will need to offer an inclusive and open-minded approach You will be required to hold a WWCC (NSW), and a valid Australian Drivers Licence.
