The opportunity: Join our energetic and hard-working operations team as a General Hand, working at Springvale Botanical Cemetery. Reporting to the Operations Leader Horticulture, this position plays an integral role in the smooth burials operations. You'll be following work schedules, occupational health and safety legislation, codes of practices and industry standards. In addition to this, you will: Undertake delivery, set up and pack down of grave safe rails and gantry units used in burial functions across SBC Complete safety audits on delivered gantry units for safety compliance Undertake delivery, set up and pack down of motors for gantry units Safe set up of gantry legs and truck stabilisers as part of setup and delivery Set out of perimeter safety cones as part of delivery and pickup process Locate and identify grave sites within burial areas Follow burial schedule to ensure grave safe rails and gantries are delivered and picked up from the appropriate location Working always in accordance with work schedules, seasonal operations, occupational health and safety legislation, codes of practices and industry standards. Operate plant and equipment which includes but is not limited to ride on mowers, brush cutters and powered gardening equipment, manual and mechanical tools, utility vehicles, small trucks, and tractors. Complete customer requests allocated through the SMCT system within the required time frames. Assist with on-ground queries from the general public (directions, daily services) Provide support and assistance to other operational teams as required. About You Current Victorian driver's licence (manual would be advantageous) Experience in a similar role Ability to plan and prioritise work both on an individual basis and within the team framework to meet work plans, customer requests and business requirement Well-developed skills in the safe and competent operation of plant and equipment, including safe and competent handling of horticultural chemicals.
