With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations. About The Role We are seeking an experienced Sexual Health Nurse who will support increased STI screening, educate clinicians and community members, and promote the use of Point-of-Care Testing (PoCT) in response to the ongoing syphilis outbreak in the Northern Territory. The role also supports primary health care teams in sexual health screening, education, and public health prevention strategies. This role is available on a full-time basis until 30 June 2026 and includes travel to the East Arnhem region as required. You Will Bring An understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination An understanding of the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings Current Northern Territory Driver’s License and Ochre Card (Working with Children’s Check NT). Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a remote setting. Up to date knowledge of STI control issues/strategies. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Aboriginal community control of health services and ability to practice in a sensitive and culturally safe manner in a remote Aboriginal community.
