The Role This role brings Council's neighbourhood facilities to life, transforming them into welcoming hubs where communities connect, grow and thrive. You will oversee day-to-day operations at one of seven community centres / hubs while working closely with community and partners to build local capacity and strengthen neighbourhoods. You will work with community to design and deliver innovative, sustainable initiatives that celebrate local strengths and respond to the evolving needs of residents and city users across the City of Salisbury. By fostering meaningful partnerships, you will help create social value, reflect local identity and maximise the impact of Council assets. Working alongside the Team Leader, you will also contribute to strategic initiatives that support Council's community development agenda, with a strong focus on wellbeing and neighbourhood development. The position requires out of hours work and the ability to work across multiple locations. Key Responsibility Inspire and motivate people across to diverse community to get involved, share ideas and help grow initiatives that build on local strengths and respond meaningfully to community priorities. Develop, implement and evaluate a range of community development initiatives alongside community. Oversee the day-to-day operational requirements of the community centres/hubs, including but not limited to. delivering customer service duties the coordination of hire bookings supervision and rostering of volunteers handling complaints and resolving maintenance and equipment issues Undertake organisation-wide duties and collaborative projects as directed by the Team Leader, with emphasis on promoting wellbeing and enhancing neighbourhood development. Who You Are A relevant tertiary qualification in community development, social sciences or related and/or demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications Demonstrated experience in working within a strengths-based community development framework including experience in building partnerships that deliver community outcomes based on the community's strengths and needs The ability and enthusiasm for generating new ways of working collaboratively to build relationships and to develop and deliver initiatives alongside community High level of interpersonal skills including a proven ability to establish credibility and gain the confidence of a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds Good understanding of the community centres sector, and volunteering Proven experience in project management in a community-based setting including the ability to write, analyse, set priorities, plan and organise work, use initiative and manage projects Proven ability to make independent decisions, having regard to policy guidelines, organisational practices and political context.
