This is a GCP Engineering SME position - Total Experience: 15 year Relevant Experience: 5 year Job Summary • We are seeking a seasoned Google Cloud Specialist with expertise in engineering and migrations to function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in leading complex, large-scale project migrations between Google Cloud tenants (Organization-to-Organization). • This role demands deep technical proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , specifically across networking, IAM, project architecture, and established migration methodologies. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and hands-on execution to design and implement secure, compliant, and highly scalable cloud environments. Core Responsibilities. • Strategy & Planning: Assess current cloud infrastructures and formulate robust, risk-mitigated migration strategies. • Lead Project Migrations: Execute full life-cycle project migrations across different GCP organizations, ensuring end-to-end success. • Execution Focus: Plan and perform the migration of critical GCP components, including: o GCP Projects, Resource Hierarchy, and Organization policies. o IAM roles (predefined and custom), Service Accounts, and policy bindings. o Networking infrastructure (VPC, Shared VPC, subnets, firewall rules, peering). o Billing accounts and configurations. • Operational Continuity: Implement strategies to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity throughout migration phases. • Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk analysis, dependency identification, and develop effective rollback plans. • Validation & Documentation: Validate post-migration performance, security posture, and compliance. Provide detailed documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer to relevant stakeholders. • Architectural Guidance: Act as a GCP SME for architectural reviews, complex troubleshooting, and security best practices. Internal - General Use Mandatory Expertise & Experience 1. GCP Migration Experience • Proven, hands-on experience migrating: o Production workloads and associated data across GCP organizations. o Complex Shared VPC environments. o IAM and identity configurations. • Extensive experience with migration planning, impact analysis, and robust rollback strategies. • Familiarity with automation tools, including CI/CD, Terraform, gcloud CLI, and Deployment Manager. 2. GCP Engg. and Administration Expertise • Cloud Governance & IAM: o Organization and Folder structure design. o Resource hierarchy and organization policy management. o Project lifecycle and billing configuration. o Advanced understanding of predefined and custom IAM roles and Service Account management • Networking Architecture (Advanced Knowledge): o Deep expertise in VPC architecture, design, and Shared VPC configurations. o Experience with VPC Peering, Cloud VPN, Interconnect, and Private Service Connect. o Firewall rules, routing, and hybrid connectivity (DNS configuration) • Major GCP Services: o Hands-on experience with core compute and data services, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery. o Proficiency in management and monitoring tools (Cloud IAM, Cloud DNS) Required Skills & Experience ● Proven experience in Cloud Engineering and Migration ● Strong hands-on experience with: ○ Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ○ Terraform ○ Azure DevOps CI/CD Internal - General Use● Experience working with Azure and GCP PaaS services ● Demonstrated strong experience in driving automation and process improvement initiatives ● Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring, and logging ● Excellent customer-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills ● Ability to translate business and operational challenges into technical solutions Nice to Have ● GCP architect certifications ● Experience introducing enterprise automation tools or platforms ● Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization ● Scripting experience (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python) ● Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid environments
