Lead SMP Designer Opportunity | Perth | Resources Sector At Mills Recruitment, we’re partnering with a highly regarded engineering consultancy delivering complex projects across the resource sector — spanning gold, lithium, and iron ore. We’re looking to engage with a Senior SMP Designer ready to step up into a Lead role , working closely with an experienced Design Manager and contributing to a strong pipeline of brownfields and sustaining capital projects. The opportunity: Perth-based role within a collaborative, high-performing design team Lead and coordinate modelling and drafting deliverables Work across debottlenecking projects, expansions, and studies moving into detailed design (2026–27 pipeline) Play a key role in design development and resource planning What we’re looking for: 10 years’ experience in SMP design (2D & 3D) Strong background in brownfields / sustaining capital projects Experience coordinating small teams of designers/drafters Exposure to materials handling and/or mineral processing Background in an EPC or engineering consultancy environment Key requirements: Based in Perth (office site exposure) Australian working rights (no sponsorship available) Mining experience essential This is a genuine step-up opportunity for someone looking to move into a leadership position while staying hands-on in design.
