The Role: As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a key role in both pre-construction and construction phases, responsible for sourcing, negotiating and procuring materials and services required to deliver residential projects. Responsibilities: · Managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and contracts · Preparing and issuing purchase orders and RFQs · Coordinating with estimating and admin teams to ensure timely delivery of materials · Maintaining accurate records and documentation and liaising with internal stakeholders across finance, operations and construction to resolve any issues. · You will also monitor product quality, identify new suppliers and contribute to maintaining cost-effective and efficient procurement processes. About You: You will have at least 2 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement within the residential construction industry OR come from a production estimating background looking to transition into purchasing. Personality is key! You are confident, outgoing and comfortable engaging with suppliers, negotiating and building strong relationships. You are a proactive self-starter with strong communication skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail. Strong computer skills, including Excel and estimating systems, are essential, along with a solid understanding of the Sydney residential building market.
