Job Description Position: EL1 Business Analyst Location: Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide Start date: As soon as possible Duration: Approximate 3-month contract with potential to extend Pay rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience Overview: A Federal Government Agency is seeking an experienced EL1 Business Analyst to support the delivery, operation, and enhancement of a national digital identity capability within a large-scale digital transformation program. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support onboarding processes, improve business operations, and contribute to system enhancements. This role requires strong analytical capability, stakeholder engagement skills, and experience working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support onboarding and integration activities Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements and translate them into actionable outcomes Develop detailed business user specifications and project documentation Support continuous improvement of business processes and system functionality Contribute to project delivery in line with organisational priorities Facilitate workshops, interviews, and other elicitation activities Produce business analysis artefacts including risk analysis, scope models, and process documentation Lead stakeholder engagement and communication across business units Conduct current state analysis and recommend improvements Support change management and communication planning Implement performance metrics and reporting frameworks Validate and assess solutions against business objectives Manage requirement traceability, dependencies, and approval processes Mentor and guide junior staff where required Skills and Experience: Strong understanding of business analysis frameworks such as BABOK Proven experience applying a range of business analysis techniques and tools Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels Experience working within complex government or enterprise environments Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and information management practices Ability to produce high-quality documentation and deliverables Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Apply now or contact Angel Malkovich on 6260 8888 at SOS Recruitment for a confidential discussion.
