About the Position: The Chef plays a central role at Charcoal Grill House, planning, organising, and executing the preparation and cooking of authentic Bangladeshi charcoal-grilled and traditional dishes. This full-time position involves overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure consistent high-quality output that delights customers and upholds the restaurant’s reputation for excellence. The Chef is essential to maintaining smooth service, controlling costs, and contributing to the overall success of the business in a busy suburban dining setting. Key Responsibilities: Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering supplies to support efficient kitchen operations. Preparing and cooking a variety of authentic Bangladeshi dishes, with a focus on charcoal grilling techniques and traditional recipes. Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain high standards. Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service. Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising on procedures to support team development where required. Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations to uphold food safety and compliance standards. Contributing to the overall smooth running of the kitchen in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate IV in Kitchen Management. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
