Safety Advisor – Marine | Alkimos Desalination Project | Perth 2:2 Roster Our client is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor – Marine to join an iconic project in Perth. This role is critical in ensuring safety and compliance across all marine operations for the project. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, enforcing safety protocols, investigating incidents, and providing training for night shift workers. About the Project The project will deliver Western Australia’s next major water source - a new seawater desalination plant. Key Responsibilities Assist with setup of new works within the Australian Marine Complex at Henderson Port and during transit, setup, and barge operations. Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships (e.g., Fremantle Port Authority) and ensure compliance with stakeholder requirements (induction, site access, etc.). Conduct risk assessments and in-field reviews of port and marine activities. Provide on-site support for emergency response and other safety-related issues. Maintain effective communication and support across facilities. Skills & Competencies Proven experience in marine construction safety, including barge and port operations. Strong understanding of marine safety regulations and stakeholder compliance (e.g., Fremantle Port Authority). Skilled in conducting risk assessments and in-field safety reviews. Ability to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Proactive in developing safety plans and stakeholder engagement. Self-sufficient and adaptable to high-risk environments.
