Our client is a strategy-led advisory business combining M&A execution with broader growth, capital and transformation advisory. The firm works closely with founders, corporates and private equity investors across buy-side, sell-side and capital raising mandates within the Australian mid-market. With continued expansion and increasing transaction activity, the firm is seeking an experienced dealmaker to play a leadership role in both transaction delivery and practice growth. The Opportunity As Director, you will lead complex transactions while contributing meaningfully to origination, client development and team leadership. You will work closely with senior leadership to grow client relationships, originate new mandates and oversee execution across multiple live transactions. This role offers the opportunity to operate within an entrepreneurial advisory environment while maintaining exposure to high-quality deal flow. Key Responsibilities Originate and lead buy-side and sell-side M&A mandates Develop trusted relationships with founders, boards, private equity investors and corporate clients Oversee transaction execution from mandate through to completion Provide strategic advice on positioning, valuation and deal structuring Lead negotiation processes alongside senior stakeholders Mentor and develop junior team members across execution teams Collaborate across broader advisory practices to deliver integrated client solutions Contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the M&A practice Candidate Profile 10–15 years’ experience within investment banking, corporate finance or M&A advisory Demonstrated transaction leadership experience Proven ability to build and manage senior client relationships Emerging or established origination capability Strong commercial judgement and leadership presence Entrepreneurial mindset suited to a growing advisory platform The Platform Unlike traditional investment banks, this firm integrates M&A within a broader advisory offering, allowing Directors to engage clients across strategy, capital and value creation initiatives rather than pure execution mandates.
