Staff Specialist – Intensive Care Medicine Regional Queensland | Leading Referral Hospital An outstanding opportunity is available for a Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine to join the Intensive Care Unit at Rockhampton Hospital, a major regional referral centre serving Central Queensland. The ICU provides specialist care to patients across a large regional catchment including Gladstone, Emerald, Biloela and Longreach. About the Service The Intensive Care Unit delivers care for a diverse mix of adult and paediatric patients, managing approximately: 450–650 ICU presentations annually 60–100 paediatric admissions per year As a regional referral ICU, the unit manages complex cases while working closely with tertiary centres across Queensland. In this position you will: Provide high-quality clinical intensive care services Deliver expert assessment, admission, ongoing management, transfer and discharge of critically ill patients Contribute to teaching and supervision of junior doctors, students, nursing and allied health staff Participate in patient safety initiatives, audit, research and service planning Support the Director of ICU in the operational management of the unit Provide leadership in clinical governance, service improvement and evidence-based care This role offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver specialist care in a regional setting while contributing to the ongoing development of critical care services.
