12 month contract Own delivery of a technically complex project No waiting around for FID, this project is funded The Company Our client is an electricity generator with a portfolio of predominantly renewable and low-emissions assets. This business plays a central role in Queensland's transition to clean energy. Their major works team delivers capital projects that keep these critical assets running safely and reliably, within a culture that values genuine collaboration, curiosity and getting things done. The Role This is a 12-month contract role responsible for taking an overhead transmission line upgrade project through execution and into closeout at a remote station in Far North Queensland. The designs are done, the contracts are in place, and construction is scheduled to commence mid-year. What is needed now is a capable project engineer who can drive the delivery phase with discipline, safety focus and clear communication. Based on a week-on site /week-in the office roster with key responsibilities including: Managing contractor onboarding, reviewing management plans and ensuring they meet the required standards ahead of construction mobilisation Maintaining rigorous project documentation, cost control, schedule management and reporting through to senior management Coordinating closely with site operations, engineering, procurement and legal teams to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time and within budget Managing stakeholder engagement across a geographically dispersed internal team including Brisbane-based project managers and site leadership Identifying and mitigating risks early, performing quality assurance at key milestones and maintaining the project governance framework through to final closeout About You The site team is looking for someone with hands-on electrical project experience who is comfortable operating in a remote environment and understands what it takes to deliver in regulated setting. You will not be building the plan from scratch, but you will need the rigour, self-motivation and communication skills to see it through to completion. Specifically, you will bring: Solid electrical project experience, ideally in transmission or high-voltage environments (OHTL experience is a strong advantage) Demonstrated capability across the full project lifecycle from execution through to closeout on capital projects Experience navigating the stakeholder and governance requirements of a government or government-owned entity Strong contractor management skills including reviewing HSE and construction management plans Proficiency in MS Project, SAP and Microsoft Office tools, with confidence in formal project reporting A relevant engineering or project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2 or similar certification is desirable) The autonomy, resilience and communication style to thrive in a dispersed, independently-operating team Benefits to You This is a genuinely unique piece of work in a unique setting.
