The Group operates across three complementary entities, one main trading entity supported by two specialist companies. About the Role You will take complete ownership of the finance function across all three entities, overseeing everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to higher-level financial strategy and analysis. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role demands accuracy, insight, and initiative to ensure the financial data tells the real story and supports smart decision-making. You will be responsible for producing meaningful management reports each month, providing visibility of performance, and supporting the leadership team with information that drives profit and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manage finance and accounting across three related entities Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and all statutory obligations Run payroll for approximately 20 staff Handle accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations Produce monthly management reports, budgets, and cashflow forecasts Implement and refine financial systems, processes, and internal controls Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and advisors Recommend system improvements. The business currently uses MYOB but is open to evaluating other accounting software platforms for better reporting, integration, and reliability About You You are a practical, hands-on financial professional who enjoys being across every detail. You can confidently manage day-to-day accounts while understanding the commercial significance behind the numbers. You build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and take pride in providing reports that business owners can depend on. Your Background Degree-qualified in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CA preferred) Experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Bookkeeper within small-to-medium enterprises Strong understanding of BAS, GST, payroll, and Australian accounting standards Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Skilled in MYOB and Excel, and confident in evaluating other financial systems Comfortable working independently in a busy industrial setting Why This Role?
