As a lynchpin of the Office of the Deputy Director-General, your role will be to coordinate, craft, and oversee the executive documentation that expresses our division's professionalism and commitment to excellence. As The Correspondence Officer, You Will Register, allocate and monitor the timeliness of Ministerial and Executive correspondence through MECS. Quality assure draft Ministerial, Director-General and Deputy Directors-General correspondence and items. Provide information, advice and support to officers across Tourism in the preparation of Ministerial and Executive correspondence (particularly in relation to templates, formatting, style and other technical aspects of the documentation) and in relation to key processes, procedures and use of MECS. Establish and maintain a network of correspondence contacts throughout Tourism and across DETSI to provide comprehensive, consistent and solution based advice and support. Liaise and maintain effective working relationships with Tourism staff and the offices of the Director-General and ELT in providing high level support services in relation to Ministerial and Executive requests. Research and draft replies to correspondence on selected issues as required. Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia. About You You'll have the ability to work effectively under pressure, handle competing priorities, meet deadlines and bring tasks to completion. You'll have the confidence to work independently to achieve outcomes with limited guidance. You'll be known for your effective written and verbal communication skills, engaging professionally and effectively with diverse stakeholders. You'll be able to demonstrate transferable skills in working in an electronic document workflow system used to manage correspondence and briefing notes or the ability to rapidly acquire, previous experience with MECS is highly desirable.
