Located deep within the Yamarna Greenstone Belt, approximately 180km from Laverton, Gruyere Gold Mine is a large-scale open pit operation delivering consistent production and performance in a true remote mining environment. Ausdrill has secured a major project on site and is building a high-performing Drill & Blast team. We are now seeking experienced Leading Hand Drillers who are ready to lead from the front and set the standard on site. FIFO ex Perth on an 8:6 roster . The Role As a Leading Hand Driller , you will be responsible for supervising drill crews, driving performance and ensuring safe, efficient execution of drilling activities. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be visible in the field, supporting your team and holding high standards across safety, productivity and accountability. You will be working across: Epiroc DML drill rigs Pantera 1500 drill rigs Rock Commander drill rigs What You’ll Be Responsible For Leading and supervising drill crews across daily operations Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance at all times Coordinating drilling activities to meet production targets Providing on-the-ground leadership, coaching and support to your team Monitoring performance, productivity and equipment utilisation Working closely with Supervisors and site leadership to deliver outcomes What You Bring Extensive Drill & Blast drilling experience in an open pit environment Previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory capacity Schedule 26 (S26) certification – mandatory Cert III in Drilling (preferred) Current and valid Australian Driver’s Licence Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead from the front A safety-first mindset with a high level of accountability Ability to thrive in a fast-paced FIFO production environment Why Ausdrill Secure role on a major long-term project Strong hourly rates plus hourly site AND project allowances AND 12% super paid on all hours worked Opportunity to help build and shape a high-performing team Work on premium drill equipment in a production environment Career progression across Ausdrill and the wider Perenti Group Employee benefits, discounts and referral bonuses This is not a step back into the cab and stay-there role.
