The Role Reporting to the Principal Surveyor/Senior Surveyor (project supervisor), the Survey Technician is responsible for playing an active part in identifying issues and coming up with solutions for development and construction projects, utilising surveying tools and techniques. The Survey Technician is working towards becoming a trusted advisor for clients and providing exceptional service, whilst achieving individual financial utilisation targets. This role primary works in field, with the split being approximately 75% field work and 25% office-based work. How You’ll Contribute Utilise solid surveying techniques to ensure work is being completed to a high standard (set up, conducting field surveys, establish control points, recording survey data), as guided by senior members of the team Assist Surveyor/Senior Surveyors/Principal Surveyors with field and office work Review deliverables to ensure appropriate quality assurance and procedures/checks have been correctly completed, as guided by senior members of the team Assist with the preparation of detailed reports, as guided by senior members of the team Adhere to legislated Workplace Health and Safety standards and guidelines and report any issues if encountered. Minimum Requirements Strong communication skills Ability to effectively manage time, manage multiple deadlines and prioritise tasks Valid Queensland driver’s licence and construction white card (advantageous) Strong attention to detail Basic understanding of surveying and procedures i.e. how to go about identifying appropriate legislation, standards, guidelines and regulations relating to the industry. Advantageous but not required: Working towards a Degree, Diploma or Certificate in surveying related field.
