Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital St John of God Subiaco Hospital is seeking casual dietitians to join our multi-disciplinary team, providing clinical nutrition and dietetic services to patients using evidence-based practice within a hospital setting. The role ensures all practice aligns with the Dietitians Australia (DA) Professional Standards, Code of Conduct, and the policies and guidelines of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC). The Position: Provide direct nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and/or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and/or outpatients. Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate. Uses nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards. Document patients’ medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner. Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required. Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups within the Division. Develop and review dietary education resources. Participate in other hospital activities as assigned. Supervise, instruct and assess dietetic students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager. Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Satisfactory completion of all annual mandatory and unit based competencies as required. Accepts responsibility for maintaining and strengthening own professional knowledge and expertise. Maintenance of own continuing professional development portfolio as required. All other reasonable duties as directed by the Supervisor/Manager. Applicants must hold a tertiary qualification in Dietetics and be eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA), formerly known as the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), with evidence of current Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to apply evidence-based practice and dietetic knowledge effectively in patient and client management. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team are essential, along with well-developed organisational and time management skills.
