Your new role As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting plant operations by ensuring all equipment, tools, and facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and production teams, you will be responsible for: Startup and shutdown of plant equipment, including boiler operation. Performing preventative and corrective maintenance across all plant and laundry machinery. Responding to breakdowns to minimise downtime and ensure safe operation. Completing maintenance records, reporting faults, and escalating issues promptly. Training and supporting team members in equipment use and safe work practices. Conducting risk assessments and contributing to Safe Work Procedures (SWPs). Supporting continuous improvement, LEAN initiatives, and 5S standards. Participating in equipment upgrades, installations, and project work. Collaborating with production supervisors to plan maintenance with minimal disruption. Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. What you'll need to succeed Mechanical and/or Electrical Trade Qualification (essential). Valid Driving Licence. Forklift and Boiler Tickets (desirable) Strong experience in maintaining industrial or processing equipment. Proven ability in fault diagnosis, problemsolving, and rootcause analysis. Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively within a team environment. Sound understanding of technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders. Competence with engineering systems, MS Office, and safework methodologies. Strong communication skills and the ability to coach and support others.
