Role overview – Learning Diversity Lead The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Diversity Lead to oversee inclusive education and learning-support programs. The successful candidate will lead, coordinate, and champion learning diversity across the school. Key responsibilities include: Develop and oversee Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) or support plans for students with additional learning needs or learning differences Lead and mentor a team of Learning Support Officers (LSOs) and support staff, coordinating in-class support and targeted interventions Collaborate with teachers, leadership, families, and external specialists or agencies to support student learning, wellbeing, and inclusion Provide leadership and professional development to staff on differentiated and inclusive teaching practices Oversee data collection and compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., NCCD), monitor progress, and evaluate effectiveness of support plans Contribute to a whole-school culture of inclusion, empathy, equity, and support, aligned with Catholic values Who we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have: Registration, or eligibility to register, with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and relevant teaching qualifications A strong track record in learning support, inclusion, special education, or related fields, ideally in secondary settings Experience leading, mentoring, and coordinating support staff, and collaborating effectively with teachers and families Understanding of differentiated instruction, inclusive pedagogy, behaviour support, data-driven planning, and support frameworks (e.g., NCCD) Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a commitment to student wellbeing and inclusion Alignment with Catholic education values and readiness to work within a faith-based context Desirable but not essential: Experience supervising LSOs or support staff Familiarity with trauma-informed practices, EAL/D support, or working with diverse learners Prior experience in a leadership or coordinator role Why join via Prospero Teaching Prospero Teaching is representing the school in this recruitment.
