The organisation operates within a longterm design support and sustainment program, deliveringcomplex electrical and control systems solutions across inservice naval vessels. Your new role Reportingto the Project Engineering Manager, you will provide seniorleveloutfit and equipment engineering support across ship platforms. This rolefocuses on the design, integration and assurance of shipboard equipment, spacesand auxiliary systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teamsand key stakeholders. Key responsibilitiesinclude: Deliveringoutfit and equipment designsolutionsfor ship platforms, including: Compartmentand space arrangements Structuralclosures and fire protection Decklayouts, equipment arrangements, ladders and platforms Cargohandling, mooring and anchoring systems Minorfoundations, coatings and deck coverings Developing and reviewingengineeringdocumentation, including drawings, reports, impactassessments and specifications Supportingrequirements analysis,verification and compliance activities Ensuring designs meetclassification societyrules, IMO and relevant Australian standards Planning and coordinating engineering activities fromconcept through to delivery Participating indesign coordination anddesign review meetingswith internal teams and clients Undertaking design studies and analysis using3D modelling, hull design and engineering software tools Supportingonboard installation activities, including scopes of work, installationpackages and test procedures Liaisingwith internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors Managingassigned tasks, schedules and priorities within a project environment What you'll need to succeed Strong experience inequipment and outfitdesignfor ships or complex industrial platforms Understanding ofshipboard mechanical andauxiliary systems(e.g. propulsion interfaces,hydraulics, piping, cranes, HVAC, fire systems) Experience working to classification societyand regulatory requirements Ability to read and interpret engineeringdrawings and design documentation Experience using CAD / 3D modelling tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation Strongcommunication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to work autonomously, manage competingpriorities and deliver in a highpressure environment Eligibility to obtain and maintainNV1security clearance What you'll get in return A longterm, stable role supportingcomplexnaval platforms Asenior technical position with real influence over shipboard electrical designand integration Opportunityto mentor engineers and contribute to capability development Competitivesalary package aligned to experience Work within a structured, wellsupporteddefence program environment What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to holly.powell@hays.com.au , or call us now.
