The organisation delivers longterm engineering and integration services across sophisticated systemsofsystems, offering a stable and technically challenging environment Your new role Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will lead the combat systems integration discipline, providing technical leadership and delivery oversight across complex platforms. This role combines handson systems integration with team leadership, stakeholder engagement and design assurance across multiple engineering interfaces.Key responsibilities include: Leading the combat systems integration function across complex platforms Providing technical authority across integrated systems including: Combat management systems and sensors Weapons and fire control systems Communications and data networks Navigation systems and sensors Training and mission support systems Applying robust systems engineering processes to deliver integrated design solutions Leading design coordination activities, technical investigations and root cause analysis Overseeing the development and review of engineering documentation, including impact assessments, design artefacts, installation packages and technical reports Planning and coordinating engineering activities from concept through to delivery Leading and mentoring engineers within the combat systems discipline Chairing design coordination and design review meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders Liaising with customers, suppliers, regulators and classification bodies as required Ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulatory requirements Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated outcomes What you'll need to succeed Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related disciplineProven experience in systems, integration or platform engineering rolesStrong background in complex systems integration, ideally within maritime, defence or similarly regulated environmentsProven experience leading and mentoring engineering teamsStrong understanding of systems engineering and interface managementExperience working to industry and regulatory standards within configuration controlled environmentsAbility to review and assess technical designs and engineering documentationStrong stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skillsAbility to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver in high pressure environmentsEligibility to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance What you'll get in return A senior technical leadership role supporting complex, highvalue systems Opportunity to influence integration strategy and engineering outcomes Longterm role with stability and professional growth opportunities Competitive salary package aligned to experience A collaborative, professional engineering environment What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to Holly.Powell@hays.com.au , or call us now.
