The Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist in Geriatric Medicine will contribute to a wide range of geriatric services, including the management of complex behavioural cases, discharge planning, and orthogeriatric care. Responsibilities include upholding CQ Health values, ensuring patient safety and service quality, and driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation. The role also involves performance development, promoting health and safety, supporting research and education, and meeting professional development and training requirements. This position attracts a Queensland Health Attraction Incentive of up to $70,000 - if you qualify About the Hospital : Rockhampton Hospital is a 305 bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment. Specialist Medical Services offered at the Rockhampton Hospital include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland. About you: Mandatory qualification/s: Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist Physician – Geriatric Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in the specialty of Geriatric Medicine is required specialist qualification, however applicants with equivalent overseas qualifications assessed as substantially comparable by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians may also be considered. Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies. The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and privileges for Senior Medical Staff. This is reviewed on a five-yearly basis. Your qualifications and certifiable skills and competencies determine the scope of clinical practice you will be granted and subsequently your position title and salary status. Qualifications will determine appointment levels. What is offered: Salary information: Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of: A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27) A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a.
