Position Summary : The Bookkeeper supports client operations by maintaining accurate and timely financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping processes, and delivering reliable financial information to assist client decision-making. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, client-specific procedures, and regulatory obligations while contributing to the efficiency and integrity of each client’s financial management. Key Requirements : Minimum 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance administration. Demonstrated experience in accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations. Experience using accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks). Previous experience in a retail, or small business environment advantageous. Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Sound understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance. Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Job Responsibility : Bookkeeping and Data Entry Accurately record all financial transactions into the accounting system. Maintain and update ledgers for accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general journals. Ensure data integrity and compliance with accounting standards and company procedures. Bank Reconciliations Reconcile all bank, credit card, and petty cash accounts on a regular basis. Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain reconciliation records for audit and compliance purposes. Financial Reporting and Compliance Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Support the preparation of BAS, PAYG and other compliance submissions. Systems and Process Improvement Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting software and relevant legislative changes. Professional Development Engage in continuing professional education to strengthen technical and reporting skills.
