The Opportunity Our workshops and dedicated workshop employees play a vital role in keeping Ventura’s fleet running smoothly. The role of Regional Workshop Manager is critical to keep our services on track and our workforce educated and motivated. We are seeking a Regional Workshop Manager to oversee designated workshop operations while building the capability of our workshop employees and apprentices. The Role: This is multifaceted role with a variety of focuses including: Providing a safe environment for all employees, suppliers and customers attending Ventura sites. People management and leadership including participation in recruitment, training and monitoring, performance management and other people related tasks. Management of Workshop and Fleet Support” business as usual” functions across our Moorabbin and Oakleigh sites Create relationships with external stakeholders such as trade unions, suppliers and educational institutions, Liaise with Depot managers to confirm availability of vehicles for scheduled and routine maintenance whilst operational requirements of the business can be met Oversee stock management ensure parts are available to meet the servicing requirements of vehicles Facilitate in house training and programmes to support apprentice learning and development. Provide mentoring to our apprentices across multiple sites for consistency of learning and exposure to all facets of the business. Manage workshop labour and resources to maximise efficiency and maintain costs to target. Set and monitor standard repair times and ensure correct job and time allocation. Education and Experience Mechanical or Trade Qualification. Well-developed people management skills within a multi site workshop environment Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate a large team in a fast paced environment. A genuine interested in building and developing teams including mentoring apprentices Excellent knowledge of best practice heavy vehicle maintenance Ability to converse at all levels and build strong relationships both internal and external.
