Reputable Local Council seeking a Design Engineer on an initial contract with the view to extend Your new council Were seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support a regional council on an initial 3-month contract. This role is ideal for someone who can work autonomously, bring strong technical capability, and slot seamlessly into an existing team. Youll be part of a supportive team culture with flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on health and wellbeing Your new role The Design Engineer will contribute to a range of infrastructure and design activities, providing both technical expertise and practical engineering support. Typical tasks include: Drafting plans using AutoCAD Occasional surveying activities Providing engineering technical advice, particularly in relation to the Infrastructure Design Manual (IDM) Delivering general design work aligned with IDM standards Responding to customer requests (traffic, parking, general enquiries) Managing day-to-day operational issues within the team What you'll need to succeed We are seeking someone who can operate with minimal supervision while still contributing positively to the team environment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and comfortable managing a variety of technical tasks.
