We are committed to maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and customer satisfaction. Due to the ongoing growth of our business and increasing customer demand, we require a full-time qualified Chef to manage kitchen operations, supervise staff, develop menus, and maintain food quality and safety standards. This role is essential to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our commercial kitchen. All meals are prepared fresh in our kitchen, and the Chef must be able to prepare dishes from scratch based on individual customer orders. Key Responsibilities Plan, develop, and update menus in consultation with management Prepare and cook meals from scratch according to individual customer orders Prepare food using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods Manage daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient service Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation Control food costs, portion sizes, and kitchen expenses Order food supplies and maintain stock levels Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and storage areas Implement proper food storage and preservation methods Work closely with management to improve menu and service quality Ensure high standards of customer satisfaction Work effectively in a fast-paced commercial kitchen Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times Requirements Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification, OR relevant trade qualification At least one year of commercial experience as a Chef after formal qualification, OR minimum three years of relevant commercial cooking experience if no formal qualification Experience preparing meals from scratch in a full-service kitchen Must be able to work under pressure with good time management skills Must be able to consistently deliver high quality food Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good knowledge of food safety standards Ability to manage kitchen operations independently Eligibility Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply Other eligible applicants may also be considered; however, applicants holding a visa must have full working rights in Australia Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
