Hunter Based National Reach and Client Base Mining Heavy Industry We are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead our Newcastle operations nationally. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping strategic direction, driving operational excellence, and delivering outstanding support and guidance to our clients and their outcomes across a broad portfolio of concurrent projects. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with hands-on management, leading a multidisciplinary team to win new work, innovate, and sustain high-quality service delivery. This role exists to bring fresh thinking, modern delivery methods, and local capability to the way we design and deliver projects for our clients across NSW and Australia. Responsibilities: - Set and execute the division’s strategic plan aligned with the organisation’s objectives and market realities. - Lead, mentor and develop a diverse and technical team to achieve performance, succession readiness, and professional growth. - Direct the delivery of projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely outcomes. - Implement efficient processes and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise operations and client satisfaction. - Allocate resources, manage project portfolio, and monitor performance against targets and risk indicators. - Ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulatory requirements across all projects. - Lead development of innovative methodologies and services to strengthen position - Identify and pursue new project opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders and potential partners. - Communicate strategic priorities, performance, and risk considerations to senior leadership and stakeholders. Required Qualifications and a Mechanical Degree. Senior leadership experience in engineering & heavy industry related markets. Experience and knowledge of mining and materials handling processes and industries. Demonstrated success in strategy development, business development, and P&L ownership. Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex programs and projects. Strong understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to operate with autonomy, integrity, and professional judgment.
