We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to maintaining high culinary standards across our food offering. About the Role As a Chef at Huntlee Tavern, you will play an important role in the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals while maintaining efficient kitchen operations. You will work closely with management and kitchen staff to deliver consistent food quality and support menu development within a fast-paced service environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and cook a range of menu items in accordance with established recipes and venue standards. Prepare and cook food across multiple kitchen sections while ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes and seasonal menu updates. Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality control and portion consistency. Check the freshness and quality of ingredients and finished dishes before service. Supervise kitchen operations during service periods to ensure smooth workflow and timely food delivery. Manage stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure correct storage and stock rotation procedures. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety regulations. Train, guide, and support junior kitchen staff as required. Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff and management to ensure efficient daily operations. Requirements Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification. Previous experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment. Strong understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume hospitality environment. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
