Develop real-time tracking and multi-sensor fusion algorithms Optimise low-latency C++ code for embedded, high-performance systems Apply maths and physics to process complex sensor data effectively An Australian R&D company is expanding their engineering team and is now hiring a Senior Algorithms Engineer to design advanced tracking and sensor fusion algorithms for high-tech systems used in defence and critical infrastructure applications. In this role, you’ll focus on applied mathematics, physics, and sensor integration to deliver high-performance algorithms capable of tracking objects and fusing multi-sensor data in real time. You’ll develop and optimise C++ code for low-latency systems, profiling and fine-tuning performance to meet demanding operational requirements. This is a full-time role based in Sydney, with visa sponsorship available for exceptional overseas candidates. Key Responsibilities: Develop tracking algorithms to process and predict object movement from multi-sensor data Design sensor fusion frameworks that combine inputs from multiple sensors Implement and optimise low-latency C++ code for real-time embedded systems Analyse and process complex sensor datasets to enhance system performance and reliability Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate algorithms into production systems Requirements: Strong experience in C++ programming for embedded or real-time systems, with a focus on low-latency optimisation Solid foundation in applied mathematics and physics for modelling and algorithm development Proven expertise in working with real-world sensor data (e.g. radar, sonar, IMUs, or other multi-sensor arrays) 10 years of experience in algorithm design, signal processing, or embedded software development Ability to profile and tune code for performance in resource-constrained environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Desirable but not mandatory: Experience in high-frequency trading (HFT) or other ultra-low-latency domains Background in tracking and sensor fusion for defence, aerospace, or autonomous systems Familiarity with profiling tools and performance debugging for embedded platforms Please reach out to harold@mantechit.com.au for more info
