Lead integration and testing of avionics, comms, and navigation systems Work hands-on with electronics, embedded controllers, and flight hardware Collaborate on production-ready systems for next-gen airborne platforms An Australian R&D and manufacturing company specialising in cutting-edge aerospace systems is expanding its team and now hiring an Avionics Engineer to lead the integration and testing of advanced avionics, communication, and navigation systems used in next-generation airborne platforms. In this role, you will work at the intersection of electronics, networking, and control systems, ensuring seamless communication between flight-critical components. You will be hands-on with avionics hardware, embedded controllers, and real-world system testing. This position plays a vital role in turning complex designs into reliable, production-ready technologies. This is a full-time role based in Adelaide , with full relocation support provided for interstate candidates . Due to the nature of the business (defence and aerospace), Australian citizenship is required . Key Responsibilities: • Integrate and test avionics systems, communication units, and navigation sensors • Interface flight control units, autopilots, and embedded controllers with onboard electronics • Troubleshoot and validate system performance across hardware and networking layers • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver production-ready systems • Support end-to-end system development, from prototype to manufacturing handover Requirements: • Strong hands-on experience with electronics, system integration, and avionics hardware • Solid understanding of networking and communication protocols used in embedded and airborne systems • Experience interfacing with flight control or autopilot units and sensor systems • Ability to work with engineering teams on testing and validating integrated systems • Practical problem-solving skills and confidence working with real hardware in test environments Desirable but not essential: • Background in electric vehicles (EVs), aerospace, or military-grade electronics • Familiarity with ruggedised systems and field-testing practices • Experience working with MIL-SPEC or other defence standards Please reach out to harold@mantechit.com.au for more info
