About Us At Development Victoria, we’re passionate about making Victoria a great place to be. We create vibrant places across our state, through diverse and strategic property development and urban renewal projects. As the Victorian Government’s development arm, we revitalise iconic public buildings, create important community, creative and sporting facilities and repurpose public land, for all Victorians. We also build great homes and communities where people and businesses can thrive, catering for different budgets, lifestyles, and people - designed to be sustainable and affordable. Job Description Your New Role: We’re looking for a commercially minded Senior Procurement Partner to challenge the traditional procurement space and create impact, not just tick boxes. You’ll drive smarter, more streamlined processes within government legislation, identify opportunities for improvement, and help shape a more commercial approach—while building strong relationships and communicating value back to the business. Your new manager has worked in Procurement for several years, both in the construction and public sector space. You can expect to learn from someone who is values-driven and focuses on helping people reach their potential. She creates an environment where people feel included, supported to grow and encouraged to contribute ideas. She will empower you and support you to develop your strengths. This role is an ongoing, hybrid opportunity, with a mix of working from our Melbourne CBD office and working from home – we work flexibly at Development Victoria. Core Accountabilities: Shape commercially robust procurement strategies that optimise project outcomes, cost, risk and market engagement. Anticipate and actively manage commercial risks in the early procurement phases with material project impact, driving timely and pragmatic resolution. Lead the development of go-to-market strategies and standard tender documentation, ensuring alignment with both commercial objectives and governance requirements. Identify and manage procurement and policy-related risks, embedding practical controls that enable delivery rather than constrain it. Integrate social and sustainable procurement objectives into sourcing strategies in a way that strengthens overall project value. Desired Skills and Experience About You: You are someone who likes to challenge the status quo – you may not have experience working in government, but you love all things procurement and have extensive experience in this field. You look for ways to make processes better and enjoy opportunities for process improvements and commerciality. You have an inquisitive mind and enjoy problem solving in a way that you can communicate how you got there and explain this back to the business. You’re also a savvy communicator who enjoys speaking to people across the business and can tailor your communication depending on your audience.
