Job Description Position Title: APS6 Project and Procurement Officer Employment Type: Labour hire contract - approx. 12 months with potential to extend Location: Canberra, ACT Hourly Pay Rate: $65.18 – $73.53 per hour 12% superannuation Working Arrangements: Full-time, on-site with potential flexibility as agreed ABOUT THE ROLE An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced APS6 Project and Procurement Officer to join a high-performing team within a Commonwealth Government agency responsible for the regulation and evaluation of medicines in Australia. In this role, you will support procurement activities and project delivery associated with external evaluation resources used in the assessment of medicines and medical devices. Working within a collaborative and specialised environment, you will help coordinate procurement processes, manage contracts, and lead projects that support the medicines registration process. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across multiple branches, ensuring procurement activities and project deliverables are completed efficiently while maintaining compliance with Commonwealth legislation and procurement policies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and manage procurement activities for external evaluation resources. Supervise and provide operational support to team members, including performance management where required. Contribute to the effective operation of a small team by allocating work, delegating tasks and supporting collaboration. Identify, develop, review and maintain procedures, policies and standards to support consistent service delivery. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve procurement and business process issues. Lead and manage projects that support the prescription medicines registration process. Contribute to business planning and continuous improvement initiatives within the section. Provide training and orientation to new team members when required. Support change management initiatives to improve operational processes and efficiency. Undertake administrative duties and provide support to senior leadership as required. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Experience working effectively within a collaborative team environment. Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work under general direction. Strong organisational skills with the ability to implement and monitor work processes. Proven stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build productive relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems and software. ELIGIBILITY Mandatory Requirements Sound knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 . Desirable Certificate IV in Procurement. Experience leading or managing projects. Experience in, or understanding of, the regulation of therapeutic goods in Australia.
