About this Position: The primary function of this position is to support the maintenance and presentation of the Local Government Area's parks, gardens, sports fields, streetscapes and public open spaces. Working as part of a multi skilled team, the role undertakes horticultural and general maintenance activities across parks, playgrounds and community facilities to maintain clean, safe and well presented environments. This position also requires adaptability to assist other teams and respond to organisational priorities as needed. What we trust you to deliver: Maintain parks, gardens, sports fields and open spaces to a high standard through mowing, brush cutting, pruning, planting, mulching, vegetation control and general site upkeep. Safely operate and maintain a range of horticultural tools, plant and equipment including mowers, tractors and implements, brush cutters, blowers, chainsaws, spray units, mini loaders and other industry equipment used in open space maintenance. Deliver daily maintenance tasks in line with work schedules, service standards and team priorities. Follow strong work health and safety practices by identifying hazards, using correct PPE and contributing to a safe working environment. Complete required records and documentation such as plant pre-starts, timesheets, risk assessments and incident reports. Assist with landscaping, park upgrades and improvement works that enhance the presentation and usability of community spaces. Work as part of a supportive team, communicating clearly and participating in toolbox talks and planning discussions to ensure safe and coordinated operations.
